Description:The Business Analyst participates in developing functional software requirements by working with key project stakeholders to formulate and communicate scope, project details and business requirements of various software development projects. This position is mufti-faceted spanning 7 business units requiring flexibility, intuitiveness, conceptual thought processes, and organizational skills to support numerous existing projects and new business initiatives.

Duties:• Formulates and defines system scope and objective based on user needs and thorough understanding of business processes, best practices, and available supporting technology.
• Defines the functional requirements and works with the team to provide technical guidance, design specifications and approach.
• Collects and defines requirements, translates into functional design documents and may participate in the technical design, test planning and user documentation processes.
• Consults with business process owners to obtain additional information during system development in order to evaluate an alternative approach.
• Assists in training other business analysts on new or enhanced procedures.
• Work with other business analysts, project manager, business owners, QA teams, and developers to support development and delivery of a high-quality product compatible with release timeline targets
• Analyzes business practices throughout business departments and utilize this information to influence process improvements.
• Understands, analyzes, interprets and documents process workflows.
• Analyzes information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.
• Studies and analyzes information about alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes.
• Conducts system demonstrations and coordinates the creation of user guides.
• Responsible to work with business partners to establish business benefits and return on investment for potential IT portfolio initiatives.
• In support of project delivery, work with the business units to ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing/training plans are developed/executed and application is successfully transitioned into production.
• Investigate and learn business issues and data challenges and assist in remediation activities.
• Assist Business Partners with problem and incident management.
• Manage business partner satisfaction by ensuring scope, quality, delivery schedule and cost expectations are attained.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in MIS or related discipline from four-year college or university; advanced degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience working in an information technology discipline as a senior business analyst in a leadership capacity.
• Working knowledge of Agile and other development methodologies
• Advanced expertise in IT business and technical analysis, including experience working with varied roles and technical disciplines to gather information, document analyses, recommend, and plan.
• Knowledge of IT project management processes, practices, and techniques.
• Advanced knowledge and expertise with lifecycles for IT programs, IT projects, systems development, and IT production operations.
• Experience with IT production environments, including operating systems, applications, middleware, databases, networks, servers, client systems, and associated hardware and software.
• Support experience on ERP systems, web stores, CRM, Data warehouse reporting, etc.
• Strong knowledge of IT production processes, such as change management, configuration management, release management, and lifecycle management. Experience must include knowledge of IT best practices and process tools.
• Proven business process analysis, strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
• Ability to set and manage priorities and projects with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience to work with both on shore and off shore development and QA resources.
